Description
Betsy Ross House - Birthplace of Old Glory
If you visit Philadelphia today you will find Betsy Ross' house, standing on its own with a brick front and door on the right hand side. However, it wasn't always this way. Back in 1900 it stood in the middle of a row of houses, looking somewhat squashed between the Carey and Co. coach lamp store and the Berger Brothers' Roofing company.
Nevertheless, you would still easily see it as it was bedecked with Old Glory and an invitation to come in and see where history happened and perhaps purchase a small souvenir.
I have selectively colored this street scene to emphasize the US flags and show a piece of a bygone part of Philadelphia
