Description
Old San Juan Cuartel de Ballaja - Richard Reeve
The Ballajá Barracks in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico once housed up to 1,000 Spanish soldiers and their families, and was the last major construction by the Spanish on the island. After being damaged during the Spanish American war, restored, then subsequently abandoned again, it was repaired in the 1990s and is now a wonderful space housing the Museum of the Americas, and several other businesses and restaurants.
