Description
Nassau - Fort Fincastle
Built in 1793 and named after Lord Dunmore, Vicount Fincastle, his namesake fort sits at the high point on New Providence Island and overlooks Nassau harbour. Designed to look like a ship, the limestone blocks from which it was made were cut from the ground using slave labour to form the nearby famous Queen's Staircase leading to Nassau port along Elizabeth Avenue.

Thank you, Robert. It is an amazing looking fort. Even the limestone at the base looks like waves!
