Stephenson's Patent Locomotive Engine
"Time flies by when your the driver of a train, as you ride on the footplate there and back again."
Well that may well have been the case in the 20th Century when things were a bit more under control, but back in the 1820s when George Stephenson was still honing the concept of steam locomotion things were a little different. It was not at all uncommon for the pressure build up in the boiler to cause an explosion, so killing the engineer (driver) and any others nearby. Nevertheless the exciting new technology caught on and soon sparked the industrial revolution which drove us forward "full steam ahead", so to speak, into the modern world...

I am a visual story teller based in southern Pennsylvania, USA and my imagery is inspired from everyday objects and situations I encounter through my travels.
