Uruguay Isla de Lobos - Richard Reeve

The lighthouse, El Faro de Los Lobos, is the tallest lighthouse in South America. It stands on the small island Isla de Los Lobos, viewed some 10km distant across a stretch of blue sea under a clear sky. The calmness of the sea contrasts with the isolation of the small landmass on the horizon.

The island is protected and only accessible by guided tour. It is home to one of the largest colonies of sealions in the world (over 200,000).
