When we were kids we loved the decadence of the 99 ice cream in the summer - some soft serve vanilla ice cream in a cone (cornet) finished off with a small chocolate flake. No-one knows for sure why it's called a 99 but the half-size flakes were specifically produced by Cadbury for this from 1930 and have been a winner ever since. The more important question is do you eat the chocolate first or do you push it right into the bottom of the cone to have at the end?
