Sator Square Wood - Richard Reeve
These are the five elements of a wooden fan I created based on the famous Sator / Rotas square four way palindrome:
SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS
This Latin inscription can be read in four directions and even in a serpentine fashion and still maintain its meaning. Although the translation is fairly benign (the farmer Arepo makes use of a plow/plough) It is the only known meaningful palindrome that works in every direction. As such it is incorruptible by the devil and therefore said to have magical, protective properties.
