Description
The city of Lares, nestled in the hills of North West Puerto Rico, was founded in 1827 and became famous in 1868 as the site that gave birth to the social revolution against Spain for Puerto Rican independence.The city became known as "El Pueblo del Grito ", the city of the revolt and is proud to show the Lares flag of independence.
Here it is painted on a vendor's stall outside the Lares church.
