Description
Nassau - Marooned
Believe it or not the pirates of the Caribbean did actually have a code of conduct, which included election of the captain, fair distribution of booty and payment for injury. All of this was dependent upon you keeping the rules though. If you transgressed then one of the worst punishments was not walking the plank, but to be left marooned on an island with a bottle of water, a gun, powder and a single shot.
This beautiful diorama interpretation of Howard Pyle's famous 19th century painting, "Marooned" is but one of the excellent exhibits in The Pirates Museum, Nassau.
