It used to be that a locket was used to store the image of a lover. These days it seems that one has to engrave your initials or name on a padlock, attach it to a public place and throw the key in the river to proclaim your undying love. In this case it's the River Seine in the heart of Paris.
And where better than the City of Love, I guess...?
