Blue poppies were once considered to be just a legend. However they do exist in the form of the Himalayan Blue Poppy, Meconopsis 'Lingholm'.
This large-petaled flower ranges from sky blue coloration through to mauve tints, depending on the stress levels they are under.
About Richard Reeve

thank you, Diannah. Yes, apparently the color varies according to how much "stress" the plant is under. I guess that's why they are difficult to cultivate.
