I am a visual story teller based in southern Pennsylvania, USA and my imagery is inspired from everyday objects and situations I encounter through my travels. My work has been exhibited and sold at the Bradford Avenue Galleries (Allinson Gallery and Huston Gallery) at Chester County Art Association, in addition to this online store. My images have also been exhibited at Panorama XXL, Rouen, France and the Cincinnati Museum Center, Cincinnati, USA. I hope you will find something that inspires you, amuses you, makes you think, smile, frown, or perhaps just scratch your head. Go on, dive in... and for those of you who do so, I offer a big thank you for looking through my window on the world! ~Richard ReevePhotos Inspiring...

Thanks Eric. It's a nice idea that it's some sort of scarecrow, and maybe it works too! Often thatchers would incorporate an animal in their design and it became their trademark; sort of early advertising I guess. In this case though, the house in the village of Foxton, Cambridgeshire, so it's likely to be a reference to the location I would think.
Eric Tressler
Wonderful shot of this old house!! I am thinking the fox is there to keep birds away or is it just there for decoration?
Richard Reeve
Thank you I'ina, this is our neighbour's house in the UK. Still lots of thatching there.
Iina Van Lawick
I remember seeing this type of thatchery decoration. Lovely shot.

Thank you Shirlye and John. Foxton is full of old buildings and yes, thatching is very much alive, in fact is a requirement for these Grade I and Grade II listed buildings!
John Chatterley
Well done Richard, brought a smile to my face.
Shirley Miller
The archetypal country cottage, beautifully captured, the fox showing the thatcher's artistry. (I hear that thatching, feared to be a lost art, is still alive and kicking in the UK).
