Description
This was a piece of bottle glass (bullion glass) in a shop window at Dockyard, Bermuda. The story printed in the shop was that this type of glass was originally used "to reduce window taxes", but my understanding is this was the cheap glass that was left over from crown glass making and that, in fact, it was rarely used in front facing windows as it has a magnifying effect which made it a fire hazard.
Nevertheless, it makes an interesting photographic composition, especially with bright paintwork!
