Colonia del Sacramento - Plaza de toros Real de San Carlos

A magnificent building in Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay that was built in 1909 and opened in 1910 as a bullfighting ring which could house 10,000 spectators. It hosted only 8 bullfights before the national ban on bullfighting was imposed by the Uruguayan government in 1912.

Abandoned until 2021 when it was restored to show some of its former glory, displaying elements of Moorish architecture.
