Once used as a lifeline in tiny rural communities, such as Hilborough, Norfolk, these iconic GPO phone boxes are now starting to look a little dilapidated, much like the bus shelter it adjoins.

The small village of Hilborough dates back a millennium to the Domesday book (1085 AD) and was the home of Horatio Nelson's ancestors.

Great photo Richard. I was surprised, on a recent visit home, how few phone boxes there are now. And many of the ones I saw have been re-purposed as book sharing stations etc.

Thank you, Jayne! Wellif BT had had their way there wouldn't be any left at all now. It's a shame they aren't well kept, but , as you say, they are being repurposed in some places by the local communities.
