Artist's Description
This traditional little whitewashed cottage stands in the Botanical Gardens in Bermuda under the shade of the Jujube tree. Bermuda has very limited freshwater supply so the roof, like all in Bermuda is limewashed and designed to capture all rainfall and direct it into a storage tank for later use. The limewash provides a level of water purification..

Beautiful shot and adorable cottage! I love the wood door. Quite tiny... Thank you for the description-- very interesting about the roof. L/F!
Richard Reeve replied:
Thank you, Meg. Yes, it is tiny! And the water collection can be an issue, especially as the population has increased.
