Description
Shot of a movie poster from the summer of '93 for Kino Světozor in Prague, Czech Republic, which was showing the classic Clint Eastwood film, A Fistful of Dollars.
This iconic film film was released in Italy in 1964 and in the United States in 1967. A fist full of Dollars initiated the popularity of the so-called spaghetti western film genre. Eastwood's follow up movies, For a Few Dollars More (1965) and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), solidified the genre and collectively, the films are known as the "Dollars Trilogy", or "The Man With No Name Trilogy".
The film is an unofficial remake of the Akira Kurosawa film Yojimbo (1961), resulting in a successful lawsuit by Toho.
In the United States, the United Artists publicity campaign referred to Eastwood's character in all three films as the "Man with No Name".
